Planning and designing our future landscape (landscape architecture) is a creative process in which you seek to strike a balance between the needs and wishes of residents, users of the landscape and other stakeholders. In addition, you take account of the history of the site and any special features of the environment, such as ecology, soils, hydrology and economic activities.

Landscape architects work for landscape practices,  consultancies and engineering firms, government authorities, housing corporations, landscape management bodies and water authorities. You can work as a designer, planner, policy adviser, project manager, researcher or sole practitioner; the possibilities are numerous. And if you want to work abroad, there are many Dutch practices and consultancies with clients from around the world.

This short film gives you a good impression of what landscape architects do.
